At the first general meeting, the members of DiGGefa met on Saturday. In addition to the general organizational votes of the company and the formation of the advisory board, a balanced annual financial statement was also established. The preparation of the expert council is in progress, here an interdisciplinary composition is aimed at.

An important item on the agenda was the presentation of the knowledge website “Compendium Vascular Anomalies” and its programming status. The online circuit, initially in German, is scheduled for the beginning of the second half of 2018. Likewise, the DiGGefa approved the English translation of the association's name, which will be GISVA (German Interdisciplinary Society for Vascular Anomalies).
The unanimous decision was made to hold a first GISVA Vascular Anomaly Congress. This will take place on 26 and 27 October at the University Hospital Halle (Saale).

WERNER J. SIEBERT WILL RECEIVE HONORARY MEMBERSHIP OF THE GISVA

A special surprise was provided by the board members for the co-founder of GISVA, Werner J. Siebert. He received the honorary membership of GISVA. This is remarkable in that, according to the statutes, only representatives of medical professions receive membership. Werner J. Siebert is the initial tor and most important supporter of GISVA. Affected by congenital vascular malformation himself, it is his desire to help people affected by vascular anomalies by making the knowledge of specialists in the field of vascular anomalies available in a database (see Compendium Vascular Anomalies)

The next annual meeting will take place on 19 January 2019 in Kassel.
