5TH ANNUAL GISVA CONFERENCE – INTENSE EXCHANGE AND TOPICS OF THE FUTURE
24 Oct 2023
REGENSBURG, OCTOBER 13/14, 2023
After the challenges of the past few years, it was a great pleasure to be able to talk in person again at a face-to-face event. With guests from Austria, Sweden, Israel and the U. S., all participants were also able to benefit from the international exchange.
WERNER J. SIEBERT RESEARCH PRIZE
This year's Werner J. Siebert Prize was once again awarded to a particularly exciting and groundbreaking research project. In accordance with the funding guidelines of the prize, which is endowed with 1000 euros, the award supports scientifically excellent and innovative research projects aimed at understanding vascular anomalies or improving diagnosis and treatment of vascular anomalies.
At this year's conference, the prize went to Dr. Simone Hammer (Institute of Diagnostic Radiology, University Hospital Regensburg) for the presentation of her project on the differentiation of vascular malformations using artificial intelligence.
"THE SPECIAL CASE"
The program item "The special case" was once again very popular. Five medically complex case presentations initiated lively scientific discussions.
GISVA HONORARY MEMBERSHIP FOR DR. LUTZ MEYER
Awarding the honorary GISVA membership to Dr. Lutz Meyer, who is retiring from board work after many years of commitment, was a particularly fitting conclusion to the conference.
A very warm thank you from all GISVA members for his work!
Prof. Dr. Moritz Wildgruber was elected as his successor as treasurer at the GISVA general meeting.
